Second Fundraiser Announcement!

Do you ever feel just blessed beyond measure?

I experienced that feeling recently, when a dear friend contacted me and asked if she could do photoshoots for people who donated to our cause.

What a blessing.

....

So, without further ado, here is our second fundraiser:

Between now and Labor Day, if you donate $125 or more directly to the Cormican adoption fundraising campaign, you will receive a full family portrait session at NO CHARGE! This includes a 90-minute session on location, a disc of high res images and a print release!

The only requirement? The session must include more than one (1) person. We are celebrating families and relationships - let Christie Rachelle Photography help you celebrate yours!

Donations can be made in the following ways:

  • Make a $125(+) check out to 'Across the World Adoptions', and write 'For Tony or Tara Cormican' in the memo line of the check. Mail your check to 'Across the World Adoptions, 395 Taylor Boulevard, Suite 116, Pleasant Hill, California 94523'.
  • Make a $125(+) check out to 'Tara or Tony Cormican' and mail to us or give to us in person.
  • Make a $125(+) donation on our online fundraising campaign, here: https://www.purecharity.com/cormicanadoption and put '$125 Portrait Session' in the 'Note' field.

If you have any questions regarding the session package included with your donation, please contact christie@christierachelle.com. If you have questions about how to donate, please leave a comment below!

We’re so excited to work with Christie Rachelle Photography on collecting donations for our family and taking pictures for YOURS!

P.S. Not sure when you can book your family session? No problem! Simply donate before Labor Day and you can schedule your family session anytime in the next 12 months.

Missing you

It's hard to say 'I miss you', when I don't even know who you are; it's even harder not to miss you.

I've never seen your face, never held your hand, never spoke your name. It's hard for me to explain to anyone else; you're real to me even now, but you're not real to them... not yet. You will be.

You are growing everyday, and I pray that is both in your stature and your faith. You are changing, becoming more of a person and less of a babe. Every minute of everyday you are growing, aging, changing, and sometimes that seems unreal to me. Other times it seems far too real.

The realness is you growing up without me; it's you not having someone to laugh with, cry to, or depend on. It's also me not having you for those first giggles, tears and hugs. When you are here in my arms, oh how I will hug you - both when you laugh and cry. I will teach you to praise the Lord in your joy and to fall to your knees in prayer in your times of sorrow; I am getting very good at both.

I  pray for you all the time, that you would grow strong, maintain good health, have enough to eat and have someone to hold you and love you until I can be there, until I can be the one who cares for you.

I pray for you all the time, that you would know that I am coming, that I am here - fighting for you, loving you, praying over you, crying out for you, and desparately missing you.

Final Bracelet Fundraiser Update

Ok, friends! Here's an update on the bracelet fundraiser - there are no bracelets left, but you can still order one through my reorder until the end of the day!

I am doing a reorder of the bracelets for anyone who wanted one that I ran out of before they had a chance to donate. If you are interested in any of the original eight options, please let me know by the end of the day on Wednesday, June 18th, so I can reorder first thing Thursday morning.  You can let me know you want in by commenting below, (or commenting on my Facebook post about this), so I can count you in and order enough of the one you want!
Otherwise, if you like one of the remaining bracelets, please donate $10 (or more) and let me know which bracelet you want! You can donate via PayPal (below) or by sending a check (message me for my address).

At this point I am going to say that aside from this reorder, when we are out, that is it for this fundraiser, so please be sure to either let me know what bracelet you want reordered or to donate and request your bracelet now!

Thanks to all who have supported our adoption thus far and those who plan to in the future! Our next fundraiser should be ready to report on by next week (I hope) so stay tuned!

P.S. 20% of the profits (received by the organization who made the bracelets for us) goes towards clean water projects through an organization called Water for Good! You are helping so many people through your donation toward a bracelet! Thank you.

Bracelet Fundraiser Update

Well, so far we're off to a great start with fundraiser numero uno!!

In the past week or so here we have sold many bracelets, enough so that we're out of brown 'Family' and black and blue (i.e. all) 'Hope' bracelets! However, we haven't quite hit halfway with our stock... so don't think we couldn't use your help and donations if you are willing!  We're a little bit more than halfway on our current stock - you guys are awesome!

If you are interested in either of the 'Hope' bracelets or the brown 'Family', please comment below so I can see how many people are interested in those in case we do a second order on those!

I also have found out that I can ship at least two bracelets (wrapped in bubble wrap) for the cost of just two stamps! Yes! So if you originally read the fundraiser post and were discouraged because of the shipping, let me assure you, I've got that piece figured out now!

We're so excited to share a piece of our hearts and our son/daughter's journey with you! Would you consider joining us with a $10 donation for a (pretty sweet - if I do say so myself) bracelet?

I've included the PayPal button again, (below), in case you are ready to join with us in writing this child's story and giving him/her a family!

To order online, please click the '[+]' before clicking the final donate button and add the following to the "Color and Word Selection" box on the PayPay page:
  • Choose the word you want on your bracelet ('Faith', 'Hope', 'Love' or 'Family') along with the band color (options pictured above)
  • If you don't see us often or if you live in another state, leave your mailing address
  • For each bracelet you order, mark with the numerals, (see the example below)
Feel free to comment below to get our mailing address if you'd rather send a check! We have a bank account set up solely for adoption funds, and that's another great way to get us your donations and for us to send your bracelets!

P.S. We'd be honored and grateful if you would also share this fundraiser with your friends and family. We can't reach people we don't know, but we can all reach a child who we don't know yet! Please help us if you can; we really appreciate it!

Thought of the Day - June 9, 2014

"But the Lord had also planted in me a desire to share the truth He had shown me in Uganda to the people who surrounded me now in America.
I wanted to share with them the truth that while their children were alive today, more than sixteen thousand other children died of hunger-related causes in the last twenty-four hours.
I wanted hem to know that another three thousand children in the world, mostly in Africa, will die of malaria today--malaria, which is both preventable and treatable.
I wanted to share with them the truth that many of us seemed to have over-looked--that God wanted us to care for the poor, not just care about them, but to truly take care of them, and many of us were not doing so.
God told us to love our neighbors as oursleves, but so many of our neighbors were starving to death while our tables were filled with abundance." - Kisses from Katie: A Story of Relentless Love and Redemption by Katie J. Davis

This is my thought for the day: how blessed I am, and how much I have to give.

For Tony and I, giving is in the form of all sorts of adoption costs already paid for (and many upcoming), as well as providing a home and becoming parents for the first time to a child who has no one and nothing.

I am just now learning what it means to be generous with my 'abundance'.
