You guys are the greatest - you have earned another letter!

So, is it a Swahili name? A Lugandan name? An American name? None of the above? Find out by helping to buy the next letter, worth $500!

Meet you back here $500 from now with the next letter! We know you, dear friends, can do it!

6th Fundraiser Update - What's His Name?!

Wow! That didn't take long!

Thanks to some of you wonderful friends in our community, we've already raised $300 for this fundraiser! That buys you the first letter and then some!

The first letter is:

The next letter is worth $250, but there's only $50 left to go to hit the amount needed to buy the second letter! I wonder how quickly we can reach that goal?! Can you help us spell it out?!

See you $50 from now with the next letter!

(P.S. If you are reading this post and aren't sure what's going on, read the previous post for all the details!)

6th Fundraiser - What's his name?!

Help us help you learn our son's name!

We will give you (all of you) a letter of his name every time we get to our next goal amount!

To 'earn' the first letter, we'd like $100 from any of you (can be one person donating $100, or multiple people to reach the $100). You can donate here, on our Pure Charity site, to help earn your way toward the first letter!

I will add the letter you 'bought' and the amount needed for the next letter in the next post, after the first letter has been 'purchased'! If the $100 is exceeded, we will apply that amount to the next goal and letter!

Ready? Set. Go!

More good news!

Sometimes I get so overwhelmed at the magnitude of this adoption... for example, the random acts of kindness from strangers at our fundraising garage sale, donations to our adoption over Christmas 'in honor' of family members, design work on fundraising tees from a friend, extra help and attention from our agency workers...

...or like today, as a $1,000 grant was given to us for our adoption.

Yes. Today we became the recipients of one of the 2014 'L.O.V.E. 5k Run' grants from an amazing non-profit by the name of Laurencia's Victory.

For those of you who don't know much about adoption, you'll be surprised to find out that the majority of international adoptions in 2014 exceeded $35,000. Between fees for our agency, for filing papers with the government, for our lawyer and court hearing in Uganda, for our/our son's travel, etc. we will easily need at least $35,000.

But a $1,000 grant takes a huge weight off our shoulders. I mean HUGE.

We count this grant as part of our fundraising efforts, and our goal was to fundraise about half of the needed money to pay for our adoption (and for Tony and I to work for that other half). Fundraising in itself could be a full-time job, but thanks to grants like this and donations from individuals, Tony and I are having to devote less time to fundraisers than we thought; this frees us up to accomplish our adoption paperwork more quickly, and allows us time to prepare for travel (and get our lives ready for our first child)!

We want to take this time and space to thank Katrina and the rest of the Laurencia's Victory team for selecting us as one of the recipients of the 2014 'L.O.V.E. 5k Run' grants, and to Katie Mrdutt for connecting us with Laurencia's Victory in the first place. We love and appreciate you all!

But the work's not done, friends! We will be posting the next fundraiser very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for my next blog post! You can also donate any time on our Pure Charity site! In the meantime, please join me in praising God for the gift of this grant and for the wonderful work of Laurencia's Victory.

About Laurencia's Victory: Laurencia Rachel Witschen was born and died on August 26, 2013 due to a condition called anencephaly.  She was ultimately victorious, for she lives with Jesus.  Laurencia's family hopes to honor her life and memory by recognizing the unique gift of every life and providing support to those in need, especially orphaned children and adoptive families.  We believe we are all called to help one another and to aid those most vulnerable and in need of care.

Exciting news! It's a...

 ...BOY!

It is with overwhelming joy that I get to write this blog post today.

We have been matched with a child, and as of Tuesday we accepted his referral.

We will be welcoming our son into our family likely this spring!

We don't know too much about him right now, just that he is a healthy little boy who is in his 2's.

At this point we have very little additional information, but we also are choosing not too tell too much of his story, (as it is his, not ours to share).

We also are not allowed to post pictures of him, (for safety reasons), and so we will not be sharing those at this time... however... here's a little spoiler:

We're absolutely in love with our little man, and cannot wait for him to meet all of you who have been following along and supporting us!

We are a blessed family and he's a lucky little boy to have so many friends here at home (and around the world) already!

We will be announcing more fundraisers soon, as we will need to vamp up for his adoption! Stay tuned! The first one involves his name, (if you're interested in knowing it)!

Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, to those of you who have supported us in prayer, have donated to us, have participated in and/or shared our fundraisers, have been a shoulder to lean on, have followed our story, and have just been there during this long process... it's all going to be worth it when you see his sweet, little face... I promise.

All our love,
Tara (and Tony) Cormican
